travel packing: the versalette

I travel a lot.  For me, it's a blessing in every way you can fathom.  I do wish I could say that I've mastered the art of packing for my adventures, but I'm something of a mess every time.  So it was a treat to stumble upon the Versalette, a Swiss army knife-esque garment, designed to be worn 15 different ways:

Nice, right?  I love the innovative, elegant concept.  Although a few of the possible styles aren't quite "me," this would still be a very worthy and versatile piece to add to my travel arsenal - I'd happily rock the scarf (second pic), most of the dress options, and the drapey poncho-ish style (second-to-last pic).  A notable bonus is that this garment is sustainably manufactured, sourced from recycled cotton and recycled water bottles.  Three cheers for that!

The Versalette is the first in a collection of 10 pieces designed for travel, the minimalist lifestyle, and extreme mix-and-match enjoyment.  It's debuting this year, and I can't wait to get my hands on the Versalette and see how it works with the rest of the collection.  See more about the clothing and the super-inspiring globe-trotters behind it at {r}evolution apparel.  I think you'll be as impressed with the designers' vision of lower-impact fashion as I was.

  5. How creative is that? What a wonderful idea. I hate traveling with tons of suitcases. Having to travel with a baby cured me of that desire.

  7. Thanks for visiting my blog! I really like this minimalistic idea! I'm dying to know how some of those styles were made! How did they make the scarf into a shirt in the bottom left corner? Ahh, mind boggling.

  8. First time stopping in..DEF following along...I love when I learn something new and fabulous on a blog! Never heard of this but I am always a fan of versatile pieces like this...I have a Von Vonni wrap dress (and sell it to a lot of clients) that can be worn at least 25 different ways...its genius! SO much fun changing it up each time and obviously great for travel.

  9. I looooooove packing. Or, to be more precise, I looooooove deciding what I am going to pack, and the goal is always the least amount possible to be as happy as possible during the trip. Such a fun challenge every time.
I think in a way this piece is a little too versatile, because I love the monastic aspect of packing light, and with this skirt-dress-shawl (seems like a drop-crotch shorts look ought to be achievable with it too), a person would feel like they are traveling with a huge wardrobe. I'm sure every other sane person will love it though.

  11. It really does seem incredibly versatile. I'm terrible at packing, so having a piece like this would be a lifesaver for me! <3

  12. Oh wow, that is totally awesome! It looks like it would fold up well to be packed, too. The classic "infinity dress" style takes up TONS of space - this looks much better.
